Initial translation from deWP article,
[edit]Courtesy User:WeHaWoe. The German version of this article is much more complete than the English version. Can you help clean up this translation and prepare it for the English article?

- To avoid spoiling this talk, I first put the rough translation to the sub-page /rough translation from deWP. I have to admit that I'm neither invoved in geography, nor in inuit history, zoology or botany [I did the job because Cbaer asked for it, and it's Christmaqs time ;)]. Therefore, a lot of work is to be left to specialists. Besides, I do not think it's useful to incorporate all of the deWP text into the en article (trekking routes, for instance, might rather be omitted). I'll do one part still missing (which I'd forgotten) and a few minor amendments tomorow, and then will leave it. There is life outside wikipedia, too, I'm told ;)) -- WeHaWoe (talk) 15:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
- As Ansgar meanwhile edited that formerly rough translation, it (or at least, most of it) should be used for the article, I think. WeHaWoe (talk) 13:48, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
- Done! I tried to merge the two articles - see what you think. There is undoubtedly editing yet to do (take a look!) but what we have so far looks quite good... Cbaer (talk) 16:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I came to update the link to Baker Lake and noticed that the vegetation includes "mountain avens". The link was to geum but mountain avens is Dryas octopetala and I changed the link to that.
There was a link to Lake trout with the Latin "Salmo trutta lacturis" but that appears to be a misspelling of "Salmo trutta lacustris". However, "Salmo trutta lacustris" is the Brown trout and the Latin for Lake trout is "Salvelinus namaycush".
There was a mention in the opening of "dwarf birch" which is Betula nana. Later in the flora section it gave "Betula glandulosa" as the Latin for dwarf birch but that is the "American Dwarf Birch" so I linked to both. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 22:48, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
